High School Education

It includes credentials called Sarjana at the undergraduate level (Sarjana Strata 1 – S1), graduate level (Sarjana Strata Dua – S2, commonly called Magister), and doctoral level (Sarjana Strata 3 – S3, commonly called Doktor). In addition, there are graduate-level specialization programs in professional disciplines like medicine, as well as four levels of vocationally oriented diploma programs . Like its secondary school system, Indonesia’s higher education system is binary in nature.

It combines vocational training with theoretical education in languages, mathematics, history, arts and sciences. Students cannot choose between the four different levels of VMBO that differ in the ratio of practical vocational training and theoretical education, but the level depends from the score. A special school is a school catering for students who have special educational needs due to learning difficulties, physical disabilities, developmental disabilities or social/emotional disturbance, or who are in custody, on remand or in hospital. Special schools may be specifically designed, staffed and resourced to provide appropriate special education for children with additional needs. Students attending special schools generally do not attend any classes in mainstream schools.

Education in Nigeria

In 2023, 85.2 cent of Swedish ninth-year students qualified for either a higher education preparatory programme or a vocational programme. Schools in some countries have begun allowing students to bring their own mobile technology into class rather than providing such tools to all students—an approach called Bring Your Own Device. Public schools accept foreign students with the condition that they have to sit for the entrance exam, attend interviews, provide certain documents such as passport and visa, and many others. Vocational qualification can also be obtained through apprenticeship training. In this case, students work in jobs within their own field, receive a salary that is at least in accordance with the collective agreement, or a reasonable salary if there are no collective agreements in the field. Further vocational qualification or a specialised vocational degree can also be completed as competence-based qualifications if the student has already acquired the skills required for the qualification.

State schools in Germany have Parent Advisory Boards (Gesamtelternbeirat – GEB) which are usually arranged at the town or city level. GEBs consist of a chair and board members that are usually elected annually. Any parent can stand for election, although you will need to speak and understand German to a reasonable level. Parents in Germany are also entitled to child benefits for children under the age of 18. For the same reason, the demand for full-day hoikuen services has been on the rise.
